The Laundry Workout

Okay, so I'll admit that I hate doing laundry. But I figured something out the other day; it can be invigorating. Especially if you set the basket at your fingertip reach, alternate arms reaching the clothes out, and setting a time limit. Let's say a full basket of clothes in 5 minutes.

What works even better is if you're standing. Then bend at the knees, like a squat to reach the clothes. Work it fast to get your heartrate up!

One other thing I tried: rotating at the waist- works those lateral obliques nicely!

Try this out the next time you're facing a monsterous pile of laundry, and post a comment to let us know what you think!

Greetings!

So as I watched my friend, Gina, walk her 5 little girls to school in the snow, I realized that I'm a panzy. Here I was driving my daughter (and two little younger-than-school-age boys) the two blocks to school. Why? Why didn't I walk? Sure, it's cold. But that's why the good Lord invented coats, right?

At a later date, Gina stopped by to embarass me in my workout clothes. I told her how impressed I was that she walked her kids. She said that it was her exercise. I thought, "Yeah. I guess that works."

It wasn't long before I got thinking of all of us busy moms. Don't we deserve to get in a little workout? Don't our bodies deserve to feel good? Why can't we get that workout in during our regular activites? Who says that we need a gym membership to work it out?

Well, I'm saying WE DO, and WE CAN, and WE DON'T! So let's get together and share ideas on how we, Active Utah Moms, can get in a little workout during every-day life. Whether it's chasing the kids up and down the stairs to doing squats while folding laundry, or riding a bike to pick up seven gallons of milk; if we team up, we can do it- NO EXCUSES! So spread the word!

The workout is ON!
